We are looking for one or two individuals to fill vital roles in our small, family owned business -- and you get to LIVE FOR FREE in Philadelphia in exchange for part time hours on property!
WHO WE ARE:
The Philadelphia House is a small boutique housing company for students, interns, and youth travelers at an affordable nightly price. We have a really nice building in one of the nicest parts of town - the Old City area. Within just 2 blocks we have cafes, boutiques, the Liberty Bell Plaza, three bus lines, a metro line --- it's all at your finger tips!
WHAT YOU GET:
FREE housing in a really nice house - a mixture of European furniture and Olde City finishes. All utilities are paid for - that means free wifi, free cable TV, free local phone calls, and rent is all free! Additionally, you'll have the chance to meet amazing fellow students, interns, and travelers from all over the world!
The staff room IS shared - it's all communal living here! The room you share will be just you and your fellow staff members - so it is private in that sense. And there is shelving and closet space for your belongings.
WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS:
You will be expected to be "on duty" for about 30-35 hours per week. We are a 24-hour per day operation, so we have shifts available around the clock. You will be expected to "man the front desk" to check in guests, answer questions for guests, and generally be available to ensure the guests are having a good, clean, safe time in Philadelphia! But this is NOT just "work"! There are housekeeping duties to help with, but you'll also be hanging out with guests, showing students around the property, and helping with fun house events. You won't be sitting behind a desk or anything and when you're not busy -- you're free to hang out!
If you've traveled internationally - that's a benefit, but certainly not a requirement. Just be willing to bring a POSITIVE ATTITUDE, be a TEAM PLAYER, and really enjoy getting to meet new and interesting people from all over the world!
