Our Janitorial Area Supervisors are primarily responsible for meeting customer needs and exceeding customer expectations. To do this, the Area Supervisor ensures the building is staffed appropriately and that team members are working safely and effectively. The Area Supervisor trains new team members and follows up with them to assure the work meets System 1 standards. The Area Supervisor assists in hiring team members and managing their performance. The Area Supervisor meets regularly with the customer and keeps the Area Manager informed of all major activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Interact with client to provide professional and prompt customer service
· Train, motivate, and supervise team members
· Perform quality control inspections and performance audits
· Assist Supervisor in recruiting and selecting employees
· Manage employee schedules and ensure appropriate staffing
· Assist Supervisor in documenting team member performance
· Oversee employees to meet or exceed building cleanliness standards
· Maintain inventory of cleaning and consumables
· Maintain building safety and security
· Ensure janitor closets meet safety and cleanliness standards
· Review and respond to emails regarding operations and customer relations
· Ensure daily labor meets established budget
· Follow all company policies and procedures
· Load and unload supplies; move heavy boxes and equipment
· Perform limited janitorial/specialty work (carpet cleaning, windows, etc.).
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Area Manager
The ideal candidate is comfortable as a team player who can take and follow directions from multiple people, one who takes pride in his/her work and is keen to promote and maintain a safe work environment. The candidate should also be comfortable having a role that is physically demanding at times.
Experience is beneficial.
