Letter Writing for a Novel Project

I am posting this ad for assistance. I am a secondary English teacher at a
small private school in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I have been teaching
English for 30 years. For the past 5 years I have entertained an idea for
a book. The idea actually originated when I was teaching my
English class formal letter writing in 2009. One of my students asked if
he could pen his letter to his grandma who had recently passed away.
He explained that he had so much more to tell his grandma. I
knew exactly what this young man was feeling. We all could identify
with him. My student ended his letter with "Forever Yours".
I have decided that now is the time to launch my project which I am
tentatively entitling *Forever Yours*.
What would you say if you had the opportunity to write a letter to a
deceased person--whether that person was a friend or foe, companion or
competitor, acquaintance or relative? Just like my young student, we have
all wished we could express one more thought. Imagine the stories that
would unfold or the memories that would be kindled? My aim is to compile
such letters for publication. I am seeking willing participants across our
country to prepare and share their letters with us. My goal is to reach
all ages, races, ethnicity and religions. I have been so overwhelmed by
the beautiful letters I have received so far. I am hoping you can help
spread my request for letter writers.
Can you share my project with your families and
friends? Through email, I have been reaching out to colleges/universities,
nursing homes, support groups and prisons. I am including my email address
as well as my P.O. Box address so that interested people can contact me for
more detailed information. Forever Yours/PO Box 456/Dunmore, PA 18512
