My name is Thalia. I am 20 years old and am a live in nanny (au pair). I'm from the northwest of France. I'm currently living with a family in the Chicago suburbs caring for 4 girls under age 10 years old. This was overwhelming for me, so I decided that a better fit would be a family with 3 children or less.

Why I want to be an au pair:

For my studies, I am learning languages (English, Spanish and Italian). It is a real passion for me. My favorite language is English. That is why I would like to live in an English-speaking country to perfect it.

My experience in the baby-sitting began at the age of 15, when I took care during the weekends and the holidays of two little girls Myriam and Farah, who were 4 years old. I like very much playing with them. We spend our Saturday afternoons to do puzzles, to draw, to read, to watch cartoons and to go out to the beach or town center. Sometimes, I took care of them in the evening when the parents need it. Since 2009, there is younger sister Ines, a lovely little girl. She smiles all the time. I like very much spending time with them. The twins are very active. They like moving, going for a walk. They also enjoy very much the creative activities such as modeling clay, cooking. We make cakes all together. I continue to take care of them regularly. I also took care of a little boy called Nathanael who was 5 years old. It is an alive and kicking child, very spontaneous. He likes the activities outside such as walks in the park or the games at the beach. I essentially took care of Nathanael on Wednesday afternoons. I took care from time to time of meals. But we especially our days to go out to play at the park and the beach. At the house, Nathanael likes especially the video games but also the games.

During the summer 2010, I took care about 2 little girls called Sahteene and Fiona, 8 and 9 years old. We shared special moments together. I often took care of them during the afternoon. I took care from time to time of the lunch when the mum asked for it. We were going to the beach, to the swimming pool and to the city centre. We also liked doing rollers or riding bike in the forest. At home, we made drawing and games. I also often do a favor for my family and friends by taking care of their children from time to time. I take care of Eloise, 3 years old, my daughter's cousin. I think that the baby-sitting helped me to become more responsible and mature. I also became more patient and I know now how to face numerous situations.

I am a serious and respectful girl. I am interested in many things. I like discovering things because I am an open minded person. My relatives often say that I am a good confidante as I know how to listen to. I am a perfectionist, especially in my studies. I like moving, making activities and going out with my friends. I like animals and especially my dog, Tania. I like music very much. I sing since I am quite small. It is a way for me to unwind. I like writing songs to share what I feel. I enjoy being on stage, even if it gets me a lot to put under stress ; I am satisfied to make it. I also play a little bit guitar. I am taking lessons with a friend. I am keen on sport too. I like running and doing some fitness with my friends in order to maintain myself in shape. I am a fan of American football. I like following the matches on internet with my friends. I support the team of American football of my city.
