A drought will happen, and with price of livestock you cant afford to let your ponds stay a deep pool of muck and no water. Do you know how deep the water level is? Might look fine but be only a few feet deep, very suseptable to drying up. Hauling water isnt fun either. Esp in August heat. Im in process of building the equipment for pond dredging. Medium scale for farm ponds. Interested folks can get with me and I will come and visit and look at the pond(s). This type of system will not harm dam, you wont loose your fish, wont change your pond bank or landscape. Works like a huge vacuum cleaner. It also can generate lots of fertilizer for spreading out on fields. Asking $2500 per half acre surface of pond, and am needing 20-25 farmers to finish the equipment funding. This is small percentage of what heavy equipment would be for the same. Im asking for a pre-pay for this service. A contract will be written up for the work to be done.
