Loving basset hound free to a good home (Decatur)

Anyone out there have room in their home for a awesome basset hound? Unfortunately we have to find a new home for our dog George. George is a lazy, loving dog but he isn't really great with kids. He is 8 or 9 and he just wants to sit on your lap and hang out with you. He hardly ever barks and never chews anything up, he really is the perfect dog except he gets kinda nervous around kids and he doesn't like most other dogs (except possibly other basset hounds).
We have a toddler and poor George just doesn't know how to deal with him. Let me know if you are interested. We will still have pet medical insurance on him for a while, so thats cool. It covers like 80% of his vet bills.
Please someone help us out! We would be very sad to see George go back to the shelter where we got.
