When off leash with other dogs, Iron Man greeted politely and playful with both males and females. He appears to be house trained and sits on command. A volunteer writes: Iron Man is posing in his kennel, head cocked, his one blue eye trying very much to catch me like a fish on a hook. He is a must to take out. Iron Man, I was told, was not happy when he arrived at the care center. It is not unusual for a dog to act up after having been abandoned then brought to a place he does not recognize as his own. I show him the leash. He is at his door in one sec. . . let's go! His first task is to void a river. . . then off we fly to the yard. Iron Man is a very handsome dog, much too thin but wearing a well groomed caramel and cream-colored coat. He sniffs a lot the premises. . . and jumps very high for treats that he does not snatch from my hand. He can even sit for them. He is quite welcoming of other dogs and even does not reply when a "little dog" growls at him. If another volunteer or a staff joins us in a pen, Iron Man goes to them for hugs. Some dogs surprise you.. they behave at first one way and after spending some time with them, they unveil all kinds of feelings, good or bad. Iron Man was My treat of the day. He came at first to sit then lay at my feet. His eyes were very sweet. He licked my hands. He proceeded to come with his half body on my lap, then the whole of him. . . rolled on his back and demanded kisses and caresses. A real pussycat. Looking back at our pictures together, I could see that Iron Man looked very happy. Iron Man is a strong dog, beautiful, sociable and affectionate. His care has not been optimal to say the least, but I can see that he knows what the good life is and is ready to be pampered. . . by you. Come and meet Iron Man at the Manhattan Care Center and take him home as your forever best friend.
