DESCRIPTION:
Main Course, Philadelphia's arts and entertainment lifestyle magazine, brings to life the cultural elements of Philadelphia in fashion, music, film, food & restaurant reviews and media. We cater to civically engaged, socially active, working class readers involved intimately with the city to dish out what you already know, while taste testing different experiences all around.
Main Course PHL is looking for editorial freelancers to join our high-performing local team. Assignments include photography, live band coverage, fashion receptions, nightlife, art openings and Philly events. While working closely with the Editorial department, primary-learning experiences for will include the following:
-Researching, writing and editing story ideas
-Scheduling meetings, interviews, appointments and pulling photos
-Understanding the behind-the-scenes of a local up and coming magazine
REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate must be reliable, a people person, detail-oriented, investigative, and possesses a strong passion for writing and editing.
All writers are responsible for 4 articles a month (1 per week), must be able to write articles in less than 24 for current events, 3-4 days for interviews and features, meet deadlines and a team player. Constant communication through social media, email and phone is necessary.
This is an unpaid position designed to help enhance/ build your writing career, while helping, informing and teaching others about what is going on in Philadelphia and beyond.
