Metal Sculpture Studio Assistant Studio Manager Opportunity (alameda)

Established sculptor, founder of The Crucible, and Stanford Design school Instructor is seeking a studio assistant to help with metalwork and other tasks and manage the well equipped private studio in Alameda.

This person will have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of fabrication skills including welding, metal fabrication, wood working, mechanical repair, construction, and other useful skills.

You will also have access to the studio tools and have space in the studio to make their own work on their own time.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to improve their fabrication and building skills through hands-on work experience. In addition, the studio assistant will also have access to occasional free classes at The Crucible in Oakland (www.thecrucible.org).

This is primarily a work trade with occasional paid opportunities. This is not a Crucible internship, this is a private sculpture studio assistant position with great studio access and learning opportunities.

Work days are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 6pm and occasional weekends. Hours can vary from week to week, by usually averaging 15-20 hours per week depending on work load and availability. A flexible schedule is a plus.

If interested, please send some words about your experience and your interest.
