I'm like a lot of musicians, I'm always searching for that next instrument that will have the perfect tone, look, and feel that will put a smile on my face every time I play. Lots of people have scold band instruments or other gear stuffed in closets gathering dust. Why not turn it into some cash?
I'm totally frustrated with selling gear at local stores that give you a fraction of what your gear is worth. Ebay is expensive and selling on CL is a challenge too. So my idea is to put together a sell or swap event at my church hall and charge a flat fee of $20 to bring as much gear as you want. You can swap with anyone else that's there or sell to people coming empty handed looking for a good buy. We would be doing this in the warmer months so we could also use the church parking lot to set up. Our church would also be preparing some lunch food for hungry folks to purchase to help us raise funds. If there is enough interest I will pick a date and begin advertising this event on CL, local newspapers, fliers, and cable TV.
