I'm in the early early stages of planning a build-out on my home. I want to extend a room out and create a cantilevered kitchen section. I know I'll need an architect for this, and also someone who knows the process of how to work this into the building permits with the city (City of Pewaukee). Is there standard rate for a consultation? Are consultations free? Is there a ballpark rate for creating the plans? I'm not sure how it all works.
