I am posting on behalf of a family that does not know I am posting. A family that is, as many are, having financial difficulties. The mom works part time and goes to college. She will be graduating next year with a medical assisting degree. She is a hard worker and until recently, had a full time job plus college and raising two kids. The kids are older and definitely understand but she feels badly because she is unable to get a live Christmas tree. She has all the decorations from Christmases past but it has been a hard year. Her daughter (the oldest) was in a severe car accident a year ago and tho she will soon return to the workforce it hasn't happened in time for the holiday.
