40 years ago I started working on a career as a photographer but life took over and that plan was lost. How sad. Now, with my son off to college, I have more free time and now I'm re-pursuing that passion. I'm taking classes on line and just trying to shoot as much as possible. My long term goal is to be able to augment my salary and, in the not-too-distant future, my retirement.
I love to head out for photo safaris in places familiar or new. I've found that this activity is sometimes more enjoyable with another photographer or two. It's useful to work off each others' process and talk about the shots while making them. Bounce ideas off each other, provide critiques, teach and learn, maybe act as subjects and just generally support one another in this activity.
I'm a 58 year old guy on the North Shore but I like to travel throughout the region. Frequent locations include Gloucester, Rockport, Salem, Ipswich and Boston. I'm generally available all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday but I also take time off from work on occasion to go shooting.
Age, gender, ethnicity, ability, level of equipment, experience, etc. are all irrelevant for this endeavor. Just an interest in making photographs and improving skills. If you're new to photography, I can teach you the basics. We can team up once or multiple, whatever works for both. I'm mostly thinking about pairing up but would also enjoy small group experiences as well.
