Chris has over 25 years of performance and teaching experience.
Chris teaches acoustic and electric guitar in blues, jazz, rock, and folk styles. He loves working with children and adults. From complete beginners to advanced musicians that need coaching. Finding that place where music lives inside all of us.
His teaching philosophy is to create a stress free learning environment and tailors each lesson to the individual and responds to the needs of each students as lessons progress.
Born in Sunnyside, WA and currently living in Seattle. A musician, composer and teacher. He has devoted himself to various music projects, such as multimedia, movie sound-tracks, work with dance, theatre and live performance with numerous groups including. Tuning the Air, The Atomic Chamber Ensemble, The League of Crafty Guitarists North America, and Lost Pedro. He attended Cornish College of the Arts Jazz Program in 1997 studies included guitar and piano. Also in that year he began his 15 year participation in Guitar Craft courses directed by guitarist Robert Fripp. In these intensive seminars, he learned the use of a new standard tuning (C G D A E G) and has been introduced to specific techniques, amongst which collective improvisations, known as "Circulations". He has also been an integral part of Seattle Circle since 1997
He is currently the owner and music education director at Seattle Creative Arts Center and is now accepting students for Guitar, Bass and Piano. Some of his recent music can be heard at http://soundcloud.com/chrisgibson-3 He has currently completed the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring program.
