Punk Metal Hardcore

, USD

Starting something along the lines of Propagandhi / Big Wig, with some occasional Hardcore / Metal (Gallows, old ETID, etc). I'll be covering Guitar / Backup Vocals (or co-Lead Vocals).
I'd like to pull this off as either a three piece, with myself on guitar, a bassist, and a drummer, with all of us sharing vocals, or possibly as a four piece with a full time front man. With or without a full time front man, I definitely want backup / gang vocals & harmonies to be a big part of the sound. The music may be a bit more simple at times, but usually it will be fast, with a lot of changes.

Drummer:
If you can keep up with the pace/changes of bands like Propagandhi/BigWig/NOFX, etc. That's a good start. Bring your own ideas to the table, and I (We) will write to them. If you Can't play Fast and Tight, this isn't for you.

Bass:
Bassists are a joke. Any monkey will do.

Just kidding, I've played bass in as many bands as guitar. haha
Prefer no pick. Be able to keep up, and add your own style to the mix. Not expecting someone to just play root notes.

Vocals:
Scream, Sing, Shout, etc. Somewhere between the sound/intensity of Frank Carter in Gallows, and slightly more straight forward (but still high energy) Rise Against / Big Wig / The Bronx, etc.
If you're only the frontman (ie no instrument), be high energy and engaging on stage.

Themes:
Life. Slightly anti-political / religion / establishment. aka a punk band.
I prefer lyrics to be somewhat vague / metaphorical so the listener can apply the song to whatever is going on in their life, but still specific enough to whoever wrote the song that we will play it with just as much passion the 100th time as the 5th.

Once the band comes together, I'm all about full collaboration. Drummer has good lyrics? Let's use 'em. Bassist has a guitar riff? Great. I even think it'd be cool for the bassist & I to switch off instruments on a couple songs. (Though that's not required.)
I like how Propagandhi has evolved to where the bassist is the lead singer on some songs, guitarist on others. They make it work. So can we.

Themes (again? really?):
The music will be mostly serious, but I want our overall vibe to be about having a good time. I play music to let out all of life's frustrations, which leaves more room for the good stuff.

I've only been back in Florida a few months, but I've already caught on to a great punk community. Promoting each other, show swapping, recording splits... you know... the way it Should be. Metal bands need to learn a thing or two. I love metal, and have been in plenty of metal bands, but damn it... get your shit together, Metal.

Me:
I've been playing for all the years. Been in 10 bands, half guitar / half bass, in different genres.
I don't do drugs or smoke. I do drink. I'm not religious. I don't care what anyone else does or thinks, as long as it doesn't affect the band, and they don't try to push it on anyone else. I'd really prefer keeping drugs out of the picture, to avoid complications. (Though I don't indulge, Marijuana is Not a drug. Laws will agree as soon as the tobacco companies figure out how to tax it.)

Who's ready to fucking play?
I have a handful of good ideas already ready to go. Nothing finished enough to Post, but if we have a back and forth, and you're interested, I could send you some rough demos.

Maybe I'll make this ad less ridiculous... or probably a lot more ridiculous... later.

Hit me up if you're interested.
