ABOUT ELM'S BOOK CLUB
The inception of Elm's Book Club was October 2010. We have 7 members.
WHEN DO WE MEET AND WHERE?
We meet on Tuesdays, 6:15 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. every 7 weeks at the KCKS Public Library (West Wyandotte Branch), 1737 North 82nd Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
HOW DO WE CHOOSE BOOKS?
1) About 2 weeks before the upcoming meeting, the facilitator will send an email requesting any interested member to send a synopsis of a book she would like to read. Members are not required to submit a synopsis, but anyone is welcome to submit a suggestion.
2) The facilitator creates one master list that includes all of the synopses.
3) That master list is then sent to all group members about one week before the upcoming meeting.
4) At the current meeting, members secretly vote on what book to read for the next meeting.

EXPECTATION DURING THE MEETING
The only expectation is reading and hopefully your participation in the discussion.
We already have a facilitator that leads the group in discussion, but if you want to get more involved and lead the group, you are invited to do so.
We encourage a relaxed environment. We don't want anyone to take it so seriously as to miss out on the enjoyment of reading and the fun of sharing what you read.
IN SUMMARY
I would like to invite you to read "The Bookseller" by Cynthia Swanson and participate in our next discussion. If you still are not quite sure our group is your cup of tea, you are welcome to attend a meeting, sit back, relax, simply observe and get a feel for the group so you can determine if our group is a good fit.
The facilitator sends a reminder a few days before a meeting. If you would like a reminder sent to you, all I need is an email where you want the reminder sent.

NOTE POSSIBLE CHANGE
This is one of the rare instances that we MIGHT meet before September 8. Our book club is in the middle of changing from meeting every 7 weeks to meeting every 4 weeks. If you are interested in joining us on September 8, please text or email to confirm the date. I will update this post as soon as I have a definite confirmation for the next meeting date.
