Samba Percussion Group needs MaleFemale Drummers (Portland)
Were you a drummer in a high school or college marching band? Wouldn't it be fun to relive that experience again?
Did you take drumming classes and now you have nowhere to practice and play? Well, if you're at least 18 years old or a high school grad, you are needed.
We play several Carnival styles from Brazil, such as Samba-Batucada, Maculele, Coco and others. We are about twenty dedicated percussionists and dancers all learning, performing and having fun while doing it. We come from all walks of life and musical abilities.
We welcome new members that have basic knowledge of time, counting, sticking technique and are enthusiastic and willing to learn.
Everyone is invited to drop in on a rehearsal to check us for themselves. We rehearse every Monday from 7pm to 9:30pm.
