During the late evening hours of Sunday July 4th, 2010 Shonda Townsend was abducted and murdered in Mineral Wells, Texas. During the early morning hours of Monday July 5th, 2010 witnesses report seeing two males identified as Marvin Antonio Eugene Burkett and Riggin Gideon Valley occupying Shonda's vehicle. Mr. Burkett and Mr. Valley were questioned by Law Enforcement concerning Shonda's disappearance and her vehicle, the two were arrested and incarcerated on unrelated charges. The vehicle was later discovered abandoned in the Southeast section of Mineral Wells. The vehicle had been ransacked and the stereo system had been stripped from the vehicle. Numerous searches were conducted for Shonda, who could not be found. In the latter part of October 2011 Shonda's skeletal remains were discovered in a field at the dead end of Sand Hill Road located in the Southwest section of Mineral Wells.
