As a newly established punk/ska/reggae band from South Jersey/Philly area, we are looking for a bassist that:
-is 21 and up
-loves punk ska and reggae music
-will learn our ORIGINAL songs and give input on new original songs
-has own gear and a little money for splitting weekly cost of rehearsal studio
-is able to dedicate at least 3+ hours of practice time once a week but has room to do twice a week if necessary AND has some way to get to practice
-is willing to play shows as soon as songs are ready
-IS VERY SERIOUS ABOUT PURSUING THIS ENDEAVOR
-has an open mind about politics bc the music is highly charged and political; basically, you don't trust gov't at all and understand them and their corporate/banking masters are capable of anything
-gives a fuck about humanity and our fellow brothers and sisters of this planet
-is more in it for the MESSAGE than any fame or money, which is what true punk is all about anyway
If you can sing, that is a plus too but not a requirement. Both the drummer and singer/guitarist of this band are very talented and dedicated so we expect the same thing from a bassist. We don't party during practice and we get shit done. Your drinking/drug habits, if any, are your business but it's expected you function 100% for the band NO MATTER WHAT!!!
We just formed at the end of July and are already in the process of recording songs for a 2-3 song demo so we can play shows asap. The time has come to get a bassist on board.
This is a SERIOUS commitment. But we guarantee you will not only have fun playing these songs and giving input to write news ones, but you WILL learn a lot about things you may have never knew existed. There is formal and alternative education going into these lyrics so the message considers all aspects of the political landscape. This is not juniors punk band from high school anymore; this shit is grown up, well-armed and educated.
IF YOU MEET ALL THE ABOVE CRITERIA, we have some limited material for you to listen to that will give you an idea of what we sound like and the direction we are headed BUT DON'T BOTHER ASKING IF YOU DON'T MEET ABOVE CRITERIA.
