Skull Island

Guitar and drums that lock down into a tight groove, we were both in Boneworm, we are playing as Skull Island now, but have no music up currently (see below):

https://boneworm.bandcamp.com/

We are playing instrumental stoner doom in the vein of Bongripper, Major Kong, Belzebong, Sleep, Acid King, Conan, Buried Sleeper, Judd Madden, Spelljammer, Thorun. ,etc. Recordings for our first release aren't done, but some rough mixes are available on request. Lots of opportunity to get input on new stuff and bring your riffs that fit our grove. I tune to C.

We are 39/40, so know this. We have other commitments in our lives, but have that fire to practice, write, record, play shows, and in doing sensible tours to promote the project and our releases down the road, but we want to get a solid lineup and establish ourselves in town before even thinking of playing elsewhere. We practice once a week currently, and pick up more practices when we have shows or are getting ready to record. More practicing is never a bad idea.

Our current bass player put in his notice, so we need the right bassist to move this project forward. We will be playing a few shows with our current bass player at Ash Street on 4/9 and 4/22, so come check us out, killer bills, Old Lie, Mammoth Salmon, Zmoke, Chronoclops, and Wolflaut.

About you:

While our music is not complicated, it does require a skilled player, one who can lock in with us and nail the timing while sounding awesome. You must have the skills, and you must have a real bass rig, the kind that makes the neighbors complain. We can play to a click, but we rarely do, you should be comfortable either way. I can not stress enough that we want to find the right person.

Lots of opportunity to get input on new stuff and bring your riffs that fit if you want, but there is no shortage of riffs. Arrangement ideas would be a plus. You should be comfortable jamming as well, i.e. a seasoned player.

Big drums, minimalist playing, riffs, large, loud aube amps, bring all the cabs. Worship of the riff. Worship of the amplifier. Listening, playing your bad ass bass rig that gives me a gear hard on with that sweet, sweet tone, underplaying verses overplaying, nailing your timing, having an ear for tone.
