I am a guitarist singer and performer of many years. I am very easy going, friendly, and like meeting new musicians and artists. I have met a lot of great singers and musicians on Craig's list that have become good friends! I stopped writing lyrics and songs over 20 years ago, but then recently started again. I bought a tascam 8 track and have been making demos. I write a lot of lyrics and also put music to them. I am writing a lot better now than I did before as I have more years of experience and have grown musically. My goal is to enter my songs into songwriting competitions and to be heard. I can put music to your words, or words to your music, and you the same.
I am writing in a lot of different styles -- country , worship, pop -- although the pop music field I am worried about the most as your competing with all the huge Katie Perrys and Lady Gagas of the world -- I think it is probally more realistic to think that maybe it will be easier to break into the other styles -- country or worship music -- but I still want to continue to write in the pop style as well.
I would like to collaborate with other songwriters or lyricists that know they have a talent and know they will get their music heard someday. With technology we can email mp3s to each other and lyrics and give each other positive feedback -- kind of a creative friendship/partnership/support as artists. If we write something good, we can copyright it under our names.
The goal again down the line to get our material heard. I know some very good female vocalists that we can use to make our demos. We will only use our best, strongest demos to get heard. Even if it takes a year or more, I want someone who believes in their writing and music, and want to take this to the next level. So having said that, I only want to work with writers and musicians that want to go mainstream and get heard. We want to make material that is viable and catchy and will sell. No obscure lyrics that the average person can't relate to.
