Study for Women with Posttraumatic Stress (Ft. Lauderdale

The Center for Psychological Studies at Nova Southeastern University needs female volunteers who currently experience posttraumatic stress to participate in a study.

The Women's Group Health Intervention is a treatment program focused on healthy lifestyle behaviors including stress management, sleep, physical activity and good nutrition.

The study involves 2 assessment sessions consisting of physical measurements such as cholesterol and blood pressure, and surveys to help us learn about healthy behaviors and emotions.

If you are invited to participate in the Women's Health Intervention Group, there will be 12 Group Sessions held in the evening, over a 7 week period, in addition to the 2 assessment sessions.

Eligible volunteers must be fluent in English, have at least one health risk (overweight, not physically active, or experiencing sleep difficulties), and be able to walk at least 20 minutes per day.

Volunteers will not be eligible if pregnant or gave birth in the past 3 months, or if previously diagnosed with a chronic illness such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or HIV/AIDS.
