Anistar is seeking experienced Level II and III Cable Techs for several short term opportunities to provide assistance with the installation, termination, and testing of various types of voice and data cables and closet build outs. Patch Panel experience required. This position involves EXTENSIVE travel required Hotel, per diem, vehicle, and gas covered. This is for a national rollout and candidates will work individually and travel from site to site. 7days a week. . ...great opportunity for OT!
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
Technicians MUST have experience working with various cables that include, but are not limited to: twisted pair, coax, power limited tray, stranded, solid conductor low voltage, Category 5, Category 6, single and multi -mode fiber optic cables. Cable installation includes: pulling, placement, termination, testing, and labeling. Knowledge of Telecom systems, TCP/IP networks, and wireless solutions required. BICSI cert (current or past) a plus, but not needed. We are looking for individuals who will pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision. Must pass drug and background checks and have clean driving record.
Job Responsibilities:
Pulling and routing CAT5 or CAT 6 cable in a new construction commercial environment
Terminating data jacks and patch cabling
Dressing and terminating distribution frames (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels)
Testing cable/troubleshooting networking issues
Installing support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks)
Computer Programming a plus
Basic scope of work includes:
Pulling, routing, installing and terminating structured cabling infrastructure in a live retail environment..
8+ years experience installing voice and data systems in a commercial environment.
Ownership of basic telecom tools: Punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, Hard Hat, Boots, Safety Glasses, etc.
Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and to provide two professional references.
Reliable vehicle and valid driver.
