I am a tutor who usually focuses on math -- from middle school through high school and including test prep. I am also now also offering calculus. Additionally, I can also tutor other subjects and provide homework help.

Tutoring today is becoming increasingly important and relevant. Some things I have heard from students who I have tutored are: "their teacher goes too fast" or "doesn't explain things well". Education has become more like a mass-produced product and when a student falls behind in a subject the lack of understanding can rapidly become cumulative and more and more difficult to rectify. The student can feel lost, may not confide in their parents, and suffer psychological effects. This is the reality for many kids these days.

That's where I can help. I love to teach and have the patience and insight to help almost anyone come to a place of understanding. And just like every child is unique, all tutors are not the same. I believe that I can offer your child the advantage that makes a real difference in attaining success.

My credentials and background: I was a successful enrolled actuary in the pension field for over 20 years. Several years ago I suffered a mild repetitive-motion disability which now prevents me from having a computer-intensive job position. I have been working as a tutor in the Denver area since January of 2015 and have successfully tutored between 5-10 students. My rates are $40 an hour and I will come to your location within ~10-15 miles of Cherry Creek.
