Wow, this business brings bad service to a whole new level.
On Sunday my wife and I were thinking we needed something for my shop and were going to check out Aubuchon in Vergennes.
On the way there she suggested we check out the Dollar Store as we had never been in there. We wandered up and down the aisles. The store is clean and well stocked. Picked up a few things and then proceeded to the checkout. Nobody was there.
We waited. Another customer came along and they waited. Finally they joked, 'It must be Free day'. I was looking around hoping to see a clerk who would see me waiting and come forward. There was a girl standing in the center aisle playing with a Halloween outfit. I thought, she can not possible work here cause she looked at us numerous times and did not move.
Finally she put the hat down and started wandering over to the checkout. She was actually a clerk. Amazing, she just looked at us for what seemed like 3 minutes.
We had put all of our stuff on the counter to check out #1. When she got there she stands behind the cash register for #2 and says I can help the next person. We looked at her and told her all of our stuff was on that counter, thinking she would put 2 and 2 together and move to that cash register.
Nope, instead she says 'I will help the next person in line'.
Now I realize it is probably not the most exciting job working at the Dollar Store in Vergennes. But you know what, if you are not happy about dealing with the public, then don't.
I hope they have enough business to discourage repeat customers because wild horses would not drag be back in to that store.
