Vocalist seeking keyboardist pianist (oakland lake merritt grand) hide this posting unhide

QR Code Link to This Post Hey there,

I am a female singer/songwriter -[25 yrs old, outgoing, down to earth] with limited instrumental ability - I am hoping to find a talented, keyboardist or pianist that I can work closely with, play some quality music together, jam, write songs, and eventually play gigs with! Over the last year, I have been working with a couple guitarists and we have some things going and have written a few of our own originals. If things work out well, I may invite you to join us in these sessions and potentially play gigs with us in the future.
Ideally, I'd love to get together at least once a week. but it would be pretty casual as we get started and we can just see how things go. I work most nights at a bar/music venue so it would be great if you had some availability during the daytimes and on weekends.

About you:
Your age/gender/sexuality doesn't really matter... I can pretty much get along with anyone.
I'm just looking for someone who wakes up and wants to play music and wants to share it with others, join forces and create something beautiful. Someone who appreciates the connections and possibilities that music opens, Someone who is patient and trusts in the process but wants to get the most out of what we are doing.

It'd be awesome if you have variety of music in your back pocket, as my taste ranges in genres and style: here's a long list of artists that inspire me, not just musically but artistically.
I listen to everything from Cage the Elephant, Sublime, Chili Peppers, The Lumineers, Norah Jones, Nirvana, John Mayer, Ellie Goulding, The Beatles, Stick Figure, Incubus, SOJA, Rebelution, Tribal Seeds, Eminem, J. Cole, Jack Johnson, Dirty Heads, The xx, Marian Hill, Angus and Julia Stone, Mumford and Sons, Dixie Chicks, Florence and the Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, Linkin Park, Max Frost, Adele, The Cranberries, Suzanne Vega, Joss Stone, Regina Spektor, Missy Higgins, Green Day, the Offspring, The Fray, Alina Baraz, Empire of the Sun, Glass Animals, etc etc.
...you get it. Really though, I'm not picky. I listen to jazz, soul, folk, punk, reggae, rock, acoustic, pretty much anything that evokes emotion. I appreciate the classics like Bob Dylan, and zeppelin and Grateful dead, but they're not in my rotation too often.

Vocally, My voice is strong, kinda raspy, a little soulful/jazzy, (I sing mostly in lower registers) I can send you some samples if you absolutely want to hear me before we get together.

If you are a multi-instrumentalist, even better! or if you like to sing, it would be great to explore harmonies.
I'll do my best to keep things interesting too, maybe play a little harmonica, a djembe, and a tambourine, but my real focus is vocals and songwriting.

If any of this intrigued you, send me a message and let's see what happens.
