The banh mi sandwich needs more flavor. For the same price, you can get almost 3 sandwiches from Ba Le. Pate is $1 extra. The Drunken Noodles were way too salty. Banh Shop has room for improvement. One more thing, that star logo, yeah that's the communist star. Better change that logo Banh Shop.I got a chicken bahn mi and it wasn't that interesting to me. Maybe my expectations where high for a flavorful meal, but I ended up having to add a lot of condiments onto mine (there are sauces on the tables). The bread tasted like subway bread, so that did it right there for me.For bahn mi sandwiches, I think this place has the best I've had. However, for some reason, those just don't hit the spot for me, so next time, I'm going to have to do a bowl.
The sales associate who took our order definitely raved about the bowl and tried to convince me to get one, even though I wanted to try the trademark bahn mi sandwich. He said if you're super hungry, get the bowl. He was right.
I will have to come back for the bowl for sure, but it's tough coming here when Torchy's is right across the street. In fact, the only reason I tried the place was because Torchy's line was way too long.
My friend got a bowl with beef, since the sales associate recommended it, but she didn't like it. She said she'd go with chicken or pork if she came back.
Service was great -- everyone there was nice and attentive. Great place for fast casual.
