Why Most Musicians Are Not Very Successful In The Music Industry

Too many musicians needlessly fail in the music industry because their approaches to building a music career are dead wrong. Here are just some of the most common reasons for music career failure:

1. Believing that if enough people will hear your music you are bound to get discovered. This approach is what I call Spray & Pray and it fails 99 out of 100 times.

2. Taking totally random actions in the music business that don't add up to a real strategy for success. Becoming a pro in this industry is no different than building a house: you must have a blueprint, a clear plan and take specific actions to achieve desired results. Taking actions at random without a strategic plan leads to failure in virtually every single case.

3. Believing that going to school to get a music degree will help them to 'make it' in music. The reality is that music colleges will not teach you a single thing about actually 'building a career' with your musical skills. For proof, consider how many millions of musicians graduate music schools every year and how many of those actually get anywhere significant in the music business.

4. Thinking that they can succeed in music on their own. Fact is that in the music industry today nobody becomes truly successful on their own - everybody who has 'made it' is working with mentors to guide them along the way in their careers. Those who choose to travel the painful trial and error path fail in 99% of cases.

5. Refusing to accept the fact that only 'you' are responsible for your own music career - not your band, your manager, your record company or anybody else. Musicians who blame their lack of opportunities on someone (or something) else fail 100% of the time.

Having read the above facts about why most musicians don't get anywhere in the music business, I now invite you to learn about the 7 things that every musician needs to know about 'really' becoming successful in a big way in the music industry.
