Math Tutoring by UVa PhD Candidate (Kindergarten - College)
Hi, my name is Jie Liu. I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Systems & Information Engineering, University of Virginia, and I have a master degree in Economics from the Department of Economics, UVa. I have long experience in teaching a wide range of mathematics and statistics courses in the Department of Systems & Information Engineering, the Department of Economics, and U.Va. Engineering Applied Math Program (APMA).
I offer math tutoring from kindergarten level up to college level. My tutoring includes in-class lecture, in-class exercise, and homework assignments. Subjects include:
(1) High-School and Below:
Arithmetic math (Elementary School)
Pre-Algebra
Algebra
Trigonometry
Geometry
SAT & CBEST Math
Pre-Calculus
(2) College Level:
Calculus
Linear Algebra
Probability and Statistics
(3) Tutoring on some advanced topics in college math might be available, but you need to directly contact me to discuss your specific need.
Location and Time:
Time is flexible.
You may either come to me (I have a tutoring place near the Regal Stonefield Movie Theatre on the Hydraulic Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901). It is also possible that I may come to your place, depending on your location.
Rate:
Group tutoring for high school level math and below (If you come to me): $25 per hour and per capita
One-to-one tutoring for high school level math and below (If you come to me): $35/hour
Group tutoring for college level math (If you come to me): $30 per hour and per capita
One-to-one tutoring for college level math (If you come to me): $40/hour
If I come to you (This might or might not be available, depending on your location), I charge extra $10 per hour beside the above rate.
