x002475 night in a Floating Home Watch your cares float gently downstream... (Near Scappoose)

PRIVATE ROOM & BATH for two or just you, in our beautiful home (also called a Houseboat). Shared common space & kitchen, wifi, decks, a kayak for your use, even some common areas around the marina, too. Ours is a two-story, 2.5 bedroom, 2 bath home that floats!

Ever wonder what it's like to live on the river? Kayak along the wetlands? Fish for your dinner right off the deck? Ahh... the river life! Here's your chance!

We live here, too, & we love sharing our river retreat with guests! We'll welcome you to our home, show you around, provide maps & suggestions for things to see & do, give you a key to come & go, & offer as much privacy as you may need.

The Space:
Enjoy river life in our custom built floating home! Yes, it floats. On logs. Really! And gently rocks you to sleep, too (especially when there's a gentle wake from a boat going by)

The house was beautifully designed by artist/contractor friends of ours, who have built many luxury living spaces & have a keen eye for style. The heating ducts were left exposed for a Modern/Industrial look, with the theme carried to the face of the bar. The stair railings continue this original design idea using steel bars reminiscent of Portland's many bridges.

Our Floating Home features:
Master Bedroom on Upper Level has queen pillow top; full bath; walk-in closet. Guests usually enjoy the Master Bedroom, but if you prefer not climbing the stairs, you can choose instead:

Bedroom #2 on Main Level has a super comfortable queen futon with a feather bed; large closet with double bi-fold doors; Full Bath#2 is in hall beside the bedroom

There is also an Extra (Office/Guest/Utility) Room that includes: washer/dryer, desk space & DSL hookup/wifi router. Plus, we keep a really comfortable rollaway bed in the closet of Bedroom #2 to use the Extra Room as a Guest Room, if needed.

Gourmet Kitchen with Jenn-Air Stove & Built-in Grill; plenty of counter space for prepping; dishwasher, too. There's a rolling wooden kitchen cart that comes in handy in the kitchen or use it out on the deck for enjoying meals al fresco.

Eating Bar divides Kitchen and Dining Area

Dining Nook with bay windows

Vaulted Ceiling w/Sky (transom) Windows

Decks for sunning & relaxing

Whole House Water Filtration System

Kayak for your use, too!

Relax with a good book on the indoor hanging chair or outside in the sun. Hey, you can even use the washer/dryer, if you want-- make yourselves completely at home. Pour a cool drink & relax on the deck, fish for your supper, take our kayak [a very stable, flat-bottomed 'lake' kayak] up the river, hike the adjacent wetlands trails . . . did you bring along a canoe?

If you happen to have a larger boat you want to enjoy here for a few days, just cruise up the river to our house & dock up! Or trailer it here & use the community boat ramp to put in!

The Neighborhood:
Great little floating home community with friendly neighbors, fishing derbies & many holiday gatherings. The moorage has common areas & rents out covered boat storage & boat slips & there's a boat launch ramp that is open to the public (small day use fee charged) . . . people are always coming & going on the water around here.

Shoreside common area property has a vegetable garden area with raised beds, a half-basketball court, horseshoe pits, a campfire area & safe parking for your vehicle.

One of the BEST features of the marina: You'll have access to miles of trails along the adjacent 300+ acres of protected wetlands preservation area. A birder's paradise!

Take a short drive over to Sauvie Island to explore: fresh produce stands at the seasonal farms, berry-picking, more miles of trails, beaches, wetlands & wildlife viewing areas!

Getting around:
The marina is located alongside the Historic Columbia River Highway (Hwy 30), an easy commute from downtown, about five miles before you get to the town of Scappoose, & minutes from the Sauvie Island Bridge. Close to NW Portland, but you'll feel like your a thousand miles away . . .

You'll need your own wheels to get here & to get into town . . . or show up by boat & dock up to the house!

See you on the river!
