I work with an investment company that does rent to own financing. They allow you to look at houses that are for sale on the market, and then they buy the property, and do a rent to own option back to you. As a Realtor, I am able to schedule showings with you, and look at houses just like a regular purchase. Once the investor group decides what you can qualify for, we must look at houses that you can afford and within about 5 miles of major high school boundaries.
Must have a credit score of at least 525 or higher. Must make at least $50k per year and can afford to make rent payments of $1500 or more. There are other restrictions, but it is a great program for people who may not have the best credit, and maybe not enough down payment for a traditional loan. The plan is to rent to home and then buy it outright from the investment company in a couple of years.
