Job Description
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor I, this position will be responsible preforming work on electrical, switches, outlets, relays, t-stats, motors, troubleshooting and repair. This position will be responsible for preventive maintenance on the building and systems including low-pressure hot water and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Building automation systems are monitored to watch for problems and regular preventive maintenance. The position requires the ability to operate a computer and keep detailed records of work completed by using Archibus. Requires the ability to communicate and work with others as needed. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A mechanical background is preferred, with a work history in the construction industry. Refrigeration and air conditioning units, air handlers, low pressure hot water heating, HVAC systems, motors, pumps, chillers, cooling towers and PM's on equipment and ability to work with minimal direct supervision. An understanding of OSHA safety guidelines. Knowledge of the construction, buildings and plant maintenance trade. Ability to maintain detailed records on specified computer programs .Ability to understand and follow instructions given verbally, or in writing.
Experience and Education
(The following requirements will determine merit system eligibility, experience and education ratings, and may be used to evaluate applicants for Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System positions not requiring selection from merit registers. When practical and possible, the Division of Personnel will accept substitution of experience and education on a year-for-year basis.)
Two or more years of experience as a Maintenance Worker I with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System.
OR
Three or more years of semi-skilled experience in building and plant maintenance work (not landscaping/grounds keeping work or custodial/cleaning work); and possession of a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
(Training in a formal program of instruction in one or more of the building, mechanical, or electrical trades may substitute on a year-for-year basis for a maximum of two years of the required experience, at a rate of 30 earned credit hours, or 480 clock hours, for one year.)
