LOST DOG in Brooklyn ParkMaple Grove

LOST DOG - Max (formerly known as Dan) went missing in Brooklyn Park on Saturday, March 21 at 5 pm. He ran away near the intersection of 85th Ave N and Kentucky Ave, right near North Hennepin Community College. He is posted on Lost Dogs MN, and PUPS (the local impound) has been notified. He also has his own FB page: Find Max/Dan - Lost Dog.

Please reply to this posting if you see him. Or, you can post the sighting on his FB page.

Although Max went missing in Brooklyn Park, we believe he could've moved into another area by now. We have not had a sighting in Brooklyn Park since Monday, March 30.

If you see him, please DO NOT CHASE him. He's newly adopted, extremely shy and scared, and he will not come to people. There have been multiple sightings, including a couple where he was running along highway 169. He's been seen running along 81 near Walmart/Fleet Farm, near Menards, and near NHCC. His mom and multiple volunteers are working with the Brooklyn Park PD to capture him with the use of a live trap. His mom is also in touch with The Retrievers, but we need recent and consistent sightings before they can deploy their equipment.

We have posted him on multiple FB pages, filed lost dog reports with Brooklyn Park and surrounding cities, notified the MN State Patrol (who has notified all of their officers in the area), notified local vet clinics, handed out flyers, are tracking all reported sightings, posted him on the Animal Humane Society lost dogs site, and we're following tips from The Retrievers and Lost Dogs MN. We have volunteers monitoring Craigslist and multiple FB pages to watch for sightings. What we really need is sightings, so we're asking everyone to please keep your eyes out for him. Max's mom misses him terribly and we want nothing more than to bring him home soon! Thank you!

UPDATE 4/2: We believe Max could have left the Brooklyn Park area and might be in Maple Grove. We received a possible sighting of him running along the shoulder of eastbound I-94/I-694 at Hemlock in Maple Grove in the early morning of Wednesday, April 1. The Maple Grove Police were not able to locate him, and we have not had any sightings since.
