Softball pickup game Tuesday nights (Armatage Field 4 or 5 (both at W.57th St. and Penn Ave S.))
Every Tuesday in good weather, we play softball in Minneapolis. We currently play at Armatage Field #4 or #5 (both at W.57th St. and Penn Ave S.)
People start to gather between 6pm and 7pm for batting practice. When we get enough people, we divide into teams and play until dark. There is no umpire, no balls and strikes, no walks, no strikeouts, no foul-outs to the catcher, and outfielders must play at least 25 yards beyond the baselines. There are more men than women, but usually both play. You choose what position you want to play by running out to that position. This game has continued for more than 30 years with changing faces. The attitude is not competitive, and excellent players would probably prefer a formal league. Please come and check it out. It's a friendly group.
