Music theory can sometimes seem a little overly complex, bloated, perhaps even pretentious. Take for example the excerpt below.

It's a lot of complicated language for what should be a pretty simple concept. Trust me, music doesn't have to be that complicated, shouldn't be that complicated, and isn't that complicated.
