I have a bedroom available in a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath in Norman. The house is near Main St. and Berry, so 1.5 miles from OU campus, which is about an 8 minute bike ride for me. The lease runs to 6/31/16 with potential to run longer.
The House:
The house was built in the 70's in a neighborhood of the same type of houses. It has nice street parking, a 2 car driveway that can fit 4 cars on it and a 2 car garage. The house next door is used as a guest house for the children of an elderly lady who passed away a couple of years ago and they allow us to park in half of that driveway, which we've been doing every day for a couple of years. The rest of the neighbors are pretty cool and not loud.
The house is about 2000 square feet, with two living areas that are connected in an L shape, one of which has a full size pool table. The room available is 13'x12'.
It has a large covered back patio with a big, dog friendly, backyard.
The whole house has new carpet as of June 16th.
Most of the house is wired with ethernet, along with wifi and we currently have a 100mbps internet connection.
We have a washer and dryer in the garage.
The other roommate and I:
I'm a 24 year old, male, engineering student at OU. I'm into hiking, camping, biking, and computers. I'm pretty relaxed and very anti-drama. With that said, if something comes up thats bothering you, just let me know. You wont offend me and the issue will get dealt with.
The other roommate is also a 24 year old male, ex-military. Hes been in the house for a year with me and hes a pretty cool guy. Respectful and not loud. He has a 70 lb. female dog who is friendly and trained pretty well.
You:
Hopefully you are a college student at OU or somewhere else close so we'll have similar interests and respect the needs for studying, etc. I'm open to male or female roommates. We have had a female roommate for the last 8 months or so and it has worked out fine. Either you have a regular job or another demonstrable means of paying the rent on time. If you have a pet, hopefully its an outside one since we are getting new carpet, is friendly, and doesn't bark all day. I marked it no smoking, but E-cigs are totally fine inside the house. Basically I don't want any cigarettes or their odor in the house.
The Details:
Rent is $375 with a $375 deposit. The bills are split three ways as well, and run about $250 total in the summer and around $170 for spring/fall. So your part of the bills would be between $90 and $60. Along with the third of the bills is a third of the chores. There is a $150 pet fee as well.
