The custom bathroom is very pretty with stylish lights, mirror, granite counter top, full tub/shower, linen closet, etc. There is insulation in the walls and floors and the windows are double paned for extra quiet and cool temps.

There is a good sized living room (16'x12') with a large area rugs, comfy sofa bed, end tables, rocking lazy boy chair, DISH/DVR, bookcase, display storage cabinet, big hall storage closet, AND ocean view thru the sliding glass doors. The place comes partially furnished so there is room for some other pieces if you wish.

The main flooring is ceramic tile and there is a smallish kitchen (8'x10') equipped with new refrigerator, microwave, rice cooker, electric skillet, toaster, etc. No oven. The 8'x18' deck is made of high quality Brazilian Ipe wood and looks out over the plumeria trees & lava to the ocean, and comes with table and chairs..

There is a large solar hot water system for lower utility bills and the house is built entirely green with non toxic paints and materials. There is a whole house water filter to remove chlorine and also a Kenmore washer and dryer. The house comes equipped with DSL from Hawaiian Tel AND Aloha Broadband internet. Their cost is extra, not included in the rent. Including water, both WiFi, and Helco, the utility bills for downstairs average about $175-$195 per month, depending upon use. Free yard service is included. There is a landline there now for clicking guests in thru the gate but can be discontinued if not needed. ATT cell works best here.

Kapoho is located on the eastern most tip of the Big Island, about 25 miles SE of Hilo and receives about 1/2 the rainfall that Hilo gets. It is just minutes from the Ahalanui Warm Pond, Green Lake, Wai Opae Marine preserve with its great snorkeling tide pools, surfing at Pohoiki, etc. The popular black sand beach, Kehena is 25 minutes down the road. There is an active lava flow nearby but poses no threat to our neighborhood. This is a friendly gated community with lots of people walking in the evenings and enjoying the pristine ocean atmosphere; really an ideal place to live. Walk along the ocean and to the Champagne Pond! This ocean view 1 bedroom / 1 bath unit is the downstairs unit of a custom 2 story house. The neighbors on both sides are quiet, retired couples.
Our neighborhood has a number of interesting million dollar homes, and most importantly-- ocean accesses-one of these paths is just one house away where you walk to the ocean and along the undeveloped coast to the lighthouse and a few beaches where there is good fishing. At the lighthouse is a Federal Air Quality control station, where the air is measured as it comes out over 2,500 miles of open ocean--this is the standard of purity for all of the United States! There is almost never any vog here (volcanic smog) as the ocean breezes keep it away from Kapoho. Our neighborhood is very quiet, with little to disturb the sound of ocean waves.
